Sources say the prison inmate was driving the deputy's personal car when the inmate crashed. Sources say both the deputy and the inmate had been drinking. The deputy, who works in the Dallas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO), has resigned following the arrest. Incident reports from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the White Hall Police Department state that Deputy Chance Dodson, 42, of Rison, was charged with disorderly conduct following the Jan. 21 incident that occurred on Old Warren Road in Jefferson County.
